The Shape Characteristics of the Imperial Snake Lizard
The Imperial Snake Lizard

The shape of the Imperial Snake Lizard is very similar to that of a snake. However, the emperor basilisk has eyelids that can close, but real snakes do not; and the emperor basilisk has external ear holes, but real snakes do not.

The Imperial Basilisk is 100-120 centimeters in length. It can be seen from the outside that it has no arms and legs, but there are still signs of degeneration. Because the original species has structures such as eyes, face, and ear holes, it can be easily distinguished from snakes. There are grooves on the lower side of the body, and the skin in this part of the body will stretch out when swallowing bait. The Imperial Basilisk likes to rest in rocky areas or cultivated fields with lush vegetation. It is diurnal and ground-dwelling. The lifespan of the Imperial Basilisk is approximately 50 years.
